Through intense listening tests, we discovered that different materials transmit their specific resonant “fingerprint” to the acoustic end-result of the playback process.

Thanks to specially developed measurement processes, most effects on sound are now totally comprehensible and discernible.

As a result of higher mass, the amplitude of resonance turns out to be lower – by using combinations of different materials, various resonances become more diffuse and specific resonances less apparent.

RPM 10.1’s chassis is the result of our research. Chambers filled with sand and metal lead to high mass, which effectively dampens all resonances. A platter should be heavy, but the advantages of higher mass can result in higher rumble from the main bearing.

To avoid the degradation of the sound, magnets make the platter virtually float on the inverted main bearing, with its ceramic ball and plate. All other design features are well-known from the highly acclaimed RPM 9.

With its new 10in Evolution tonearm, the RPM 10.1 offers exceptional bass, dynamics and overall composure. It is clearly one of the best audiophile turntables on the market.
