Pro-Ject RPM 9.1X the mass principle with its advantages in optimising resonance was combined with outstanding design. A centrally-positioned metal block creates a defined gravity point and absorbs resonances effectively.

The RPM 9.1x utilises an oversized inverted main bearing with ceramic ball and plate. The ceramic ball bearing is both extremely tough and absorbent. Its cone feet are adjustable and internally damped to isolate the turntable from below taking advantage of both the subchassis and the high-mass principles. A free-standing heavyweight motor block is decoupled completely from the turntable.
