Musical Fidelity V-CAN MK II Headphone Amplifier.

V-CAN II

The V-CAN is a genuine state-of-the-art headphone amplifier. Most high quality headphones have impedance of around 30 Ohms. Almost all headphone amps have an output impedance between 50 and 100 Ohms. Because of their high output impedance they cannot drive headphones properly. Any sound they produce through the headphones is necessarily coloured, with distortion and non linear frequency response. The V-CAN is quite different. Its output impedance is 5 Ohms. This means it will drive any headphone available with ease. It will produce low distortion, ruler flat frequency response and complete linearity.

Connections

All connections must be made before the mains adaptor is plugged in, and before any amplifier connected is switched on. Always switch off the equipment attached to the V-CANII before connecting or disconnecting power, changing leads or inputs.

Inputs

Using good quality RCA leads (not supplied), connect the left and right outputs from a CD player or other audio source to the V-CANII LINE INPUT sockets. If connecting into an existing system, the V-CANII can conveniently be connected to the TAPE REC outputs of any pre- or integrated amplifier. If the TAPE REC outputs are still required by e.g. tape or CD recorder, then the LINE OUT of the V-CANII replicates the original TAPE REC output and can be used accordingly.

Outputs

Two headphone sockets are available to allow a greater range of headphones to be used without need of adaptors. Connect headphones into the correct output socket of the V-CANII.

Power

Plug the DC connector lead from the power supply unit into the V-CANII power inlet socket, and plug the adaptor itself into a convenient wall mains outlet. The blue LED will light to confirm the unit is ready for use.

Use

Adjust the volume control for a comfortable listening level, sit back and enjoy the music.

These products have been designed so that it may be left on indefinitely, but please note that the mains adapter may become warm to the touch - this is normal.
